Scholarships
There are many ways to make a scholarship gift—and every amount makes a difference. You can donate to an existing scholarship or create a new named scholarship. Scholarships provide important financial support for students in need. By donating to a scholarship, you can make attending college possible for many that may otherwise never attend.
Areas of Greatest Need
Gifts of greatest need provide the College leadership the flexibility to prioritize the needs of our students and react to unforeseen challenges. By designating your gift to Areas of Greatest Need, your contribution provides important operating support.
By giving to athletics, you are empowering student-athletes to succeed in all aspects of their lives. ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï currently has 8 men's and women's athletic programs. By giving to an athletic program that means the most to you, you are providing financial assistance for student-athlete expenses such as equipment, clothing, travel, etc.
Our athletic teams provide some exciting action for Hawk's fans. For more information on ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Athletics please visit .

With careful planning, charitable gifts of certain types of assets will provide even greater tax benefits to a donor than a gift of the equivalent value in cash. The most favorable tax benefits derive from contributions of appreciated, long-term, capital gain securities, and real estate. In addition to receiving a charitable deduction for the fair market value of such a gift, the donor avoids any potential tax on the capital gain element of the gifted property.
For specific information about your situation, we recommend that you consult your financial and legal advisors. In the meantime, our brief descriptions may help you choose a direction.

Contact the Foundation at (402) 844-7240 regarding the designation of the proceeds from the securities.
-
Real Estate
Donating appreciated real estate or land allows a donor to deduct the property's fair market value while avoiding capital gains taxes. -
Commodities
When transferring legal ownership of grain or livestock before the commodity is sold, the producer is able to deduct the entire cost of the production of the commodity, thus minimizing taxes. Depending on the producer's specific circumstances, savings may be realized on federal and state income taxes as well as self-employment taxes.
The ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation depends on donations from private citizens and businesses to provide scholarships and other funding for ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï students and the College. A donor determines the value of a gift through an appraisal, record of purchase or other means. All gifts are reviewed and acknowledged, and ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation reserves the right to decline any gift.

Are you an ag producer interested in supporting the future of rural Nebraska? A gift of grain or livestock offers several benefits for farmers and ranchers interested in financially supporting ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and it's students.
How it works:
- Producer completes and returns letter to the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation notifying them of the donation.
This must be done before delivering commodities to the facility. - Donor asks facility to transfer X number of bushels/ head to ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation.
- ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation receives receipt and pays any ownership costs.
- ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation authorizes sale and collects proceeds from commodity, then sends donor acknowledgment letter with commodity type, date received and gift credit amount.
- Donor includes production expenses on tax return (in year paid) but not the sale of gift.
We invite you to partner with us to help grow the next generation of producers and agribusiness employees by contributing to the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Foundation.
